Our Mission
Our mission is to help you find the right tool for your budget and your needs. We believe in cutting through the manufacturer fluff to give you unbiased information about products you need to complete the projects on your to-do list. Along with honest reviews, we’ll deliver informative and marketing-free guides that help you make the most of your purchase.
We know that not everybody has the same needs when choosing new tools. The coolest new feature on a product isn’t worth a dime if you won’t use it, and what might be a deal-breaking flaw to one person might not matter at all for your projects! We’ll call out both the good and bad points, and we’ll explain how they matter (or not) to you.
As much as we can, we’ll write reviews of products we have purchased and used ourselves. If that isn’t practical, we’ll rely on the real first-hand experience of other customers to give you a balanced opinion. We won’t puff up a product or hide relevant criticism, unlike so many sites that just read like a sales brochure.

I started this site because I’ve always been a bit of a gadget nut. When I became a homeowner a while back, I found myself needing to grow my tool collection in a hurry. (Okay, a little bit of needing to and a lot of wanting to…) Luckily, I also enjoy digging into products to find the best one for my needs. But I know not everyone enjoys doing that, and I figured there are others out there who can benefit from honest assessments of products out on the market.
I try to do a lot of our product research and writing myself. And even when I turn to professionals, I still make the final approval before anything goes up for you to read. I hope you find it useful.
