Power & Motor

Both saws are corded and run on 120 V. The GTS1031 draws 15 amps. The R4512 draws 13 amps. Standard U.S. residential circuits are 120 V, 15 A, which will support either of the table saws.

The GTS1031 has a motor that spins at 5000 rpm and the R4512 has a motor that spins at 3450 rpm. But you shouldnt get too caught up in the RPM numbers, since the manufacturers test them under ideal conditions, and they dont have a meaningful correlation with the saws real-world ability to handle various types of material.

Blade Compatibility

Both products take 10 diameter blades and have a 5/8 arbor. Ten inches is the most common size for table saw blades, so you should be able to find a huge variety of blades for any purpose. Most 8-to-10blades have a 5/8arbor hole, so this size arbor maximizes blade compatibility.

The Bosch accepts dado blades up to 5/8 thick. The Ridgid takes dado blades up to 13/16 thick.

Size & Capacity

The Bosch has 18 of rip capacity on the right side of the blade and has 8 1/2 of rip capacity on the left of the blade. The Ridgid has 30 of rip capacity on the right side and has 15 of rip capacity on the left. Generally speaking, more rip capacity is better, but it often also means a larger, heavier saw. Think about how big of rip cuts youll be making to help choose the right size saw for you.

Both saws can cut up to 2 1/4 deep at a 45° angle. The GTS1031 can bevel its blade up to 47° and can cut up to 3 1/8 at a 90° angle. The R4512 can bevel up to 45° and can cut up to 3 1/4 deep at a 90° angle.

The table on the Bosch is 22 1/2 wide and 20 deep. The table on the Ridgid is 40 wide and 27 deep.
