Power & Motor
Both saws are corded, run on 120 V, and draw 15 amps. Standard U.S. residential circuits are 120 V, 15 A, which will support either of the table saws.
The GTS1031 has a motor that spins at 5000 rpm and the TS6307-00 has a motor that spins at 4600 rpm. You shouldn’t get too caught up in the RPM numbers, since the manufacturers test them under ideal conditions, and they don’t have a meaningful correlation with the saw’s real-world ability to handle various types of material.
Blade Compatibility
Both products accept 10” diameter blades and have a 5/8” arbor. Ten inches is a very popular size for table saw blades, meaning it shouldn’t be a problem to find a huge variety of blades to suit your needs. Most 8-to-10” blades have a 5/8” arbor hole, so this size of arbor gives you a variety of options.
Both saws take dado blades up to 5/8” thick.
Size & Capacity
The Bosch can rip up to 18” of material on the right of the blade and has 8 1/2” of rip capacity on the left side. The Skil has 25 1/2” of rip capacity on the right and has 14” of rip capacity on the left side of the blade. Generally speaking, more rip capacity is better, but it often also means a larger (and heavier) saw. Think about how big of rip cuts you’ll be making to help choose the right size saw for you.
Both table saws can bevel the blade up to 47°. The GTS1031 can cut up to 3 1/8” deep at 90° and will cut up to 2 1/4” at a 45° angle. The TS6307-00 is able to cut up to 3 1/2” deep at an angle of 90° and can cut up to 2 1/2” at 45°.
The table on the Bosch is 22 1/2” wide and 20” deep. The table on the Skil is 24” wide and 25” deep.
